The Forth of July is a moment of celebration for young and for old. Yet, while the adults have a fair idea about the meaning associated with this day, children still need in depth information as well as interesting activities to keep them happy about this holiday and start understanding its significance. Here are some activities that will make Independence Day even more pleasant for your little ones.

• Dressing Up

If it is a party, then let’s party in the American style! Dress your children in costumes inspired by the American culture, civilization or history. They will love to fool around in the Statue of Liberty, pilgrims or Uncle Sam costumes and you can be sure they will wait for the next 4^th of July starting July 5^th! It is highly important that children know what they are celebrating. Thus telling stories about the significance of this date as well as taking quizzes to check their knowledge is a great way to underline the importance of the event. You can even ask them to compose a book about George Washington or the history of the 4^th of July. Help them out with what you can, without taking over of the writing. Make it a team work and let your child be the leader. It will be fun, enabling you to spend more time with your family.

• Have a Picnic

If you have the chance to go out and have an Independence Day picnic, then do not miss the opportunity. Children feel good when they have enough space to play and some fresh air will do them good. Furthermore, there will be plenty of people to share your joy with.

The 4^th of July is a day filled with pride for your country. Pass on this joy to your children and make them proud they are Americans. They are the future after all!
